Introducing… the world map! So, how does it work?

The world map will be seperated into islands that are purchasable via hearts collected throughout the levels. You must gather enough hearts to enable the next set oflevels to be accessed. You can play and replay any level in any order as long as you have unlocked the island. Each island can consist of many levels or no levels and can just be a purchaseable pass. Each level marker will show the level number, a small icon to show what type of level it will be, the amount of (max) hearts collected on that level and the collectable, if collected. There is also a counter to show the % of levels complete and % of map still locked away.

The whole system runs extremely smoothly and is simple to understand. It is also a much easier and open to adventure way of traveling through the worlds.

There is also a chance for a minigame balloon to pop up at random times and also a small chance after every island purchased!

So far the biomes are very simple but the tiles blend together nicely. Each island and tileset is used to show what sort of level will be played. Green/grass for grassy levels, sand for desert and snow for… snow. You get it!

More fine tuning, polising, testing and changes to come!
