Devblog #2 - the dirt


I’ve managed to polish the game a little more while enhancing the lighting system and fps! Also…

  • you’ll now find random bits of “dirt” on the ground. it will be a different tile just for looks and at the moment have no other use.
  • created a stone shovel. this can be used for the dirt I just created!
  • dirt patches can be dug with a shovel to create a random item from a loot table. for now, the items are dirt, roots, stones or mushrooms.
  • dirt patches will become stone patches depending on the floor levels stats. i.e, the further down you go, the more likely you’ll find stone patches and not dirt patches
  • the map can now randomly spawn torches
  • added the mineshaft elevator! this will randomly spawn anywhere around the map
  • random rooms can spawn around the map. these will remove any blocks and replace it with a random room schematic. at the moment the only schematics are a forge and lumber room
  • added a new ore that glows purple
  • added glow torches
  • ores and gem glistens can be visible through the shadow. the closer you are to them, the brighter they glisten
