Update 0.1.0 - Steps Forward


I am proud to announce our first major release! A huge thank you to everyone who tested the older version an kept my motivation high to keep this going. Below are the update notes but the new version is playable via HTML5 and Windows. Thank you again!


UPDATE - 24/04

  • Block layers will now crossover instead of jumping straight into the new block making the terrain more natural and unpredictible;

  • Added random events that trigger at random intervals while clicking: Whispers of the Deep, Ancient Beacon, Essence Wyrm and Golem Awakening;

  • Added a new essence upgrade: Deeper Veins. This increases the amount of essence gained per vein;

  • Added all the current block type golems;

  • Readjusted the colour scheme of some blocks;

  • Added a new block currency: crystals;

  • Crystals have a similar spawn to essence veins;

  • Added crystal upgrade to increase amount gained;

  • Added crystal upgrade that allows you to increase the spawn rate of crystals;

  • Crystals are now used as a main currency for upgrades;

  • Changed how essence veins spawn;

  • More essence and crystal veins;

  • Added a new event that spawns crystals from falling meteorites;

  • Added a random event that blossoms flowers that can be clicked for crystals or essence;

  • Reworked upgrade prices;

  • Added the option to toggle auto sell blocks. Each block toggled will sell 1 block per tick. If there is more than 1000 blocks, 10 will be sold at a time. You can still hold left mouse button to sell individual blocks;

  • Increased the health of all blocks;

  • Enhanced Golem strength;

  • Added a “sleep mode” - this will trigger after 5 minutes of not playing and will dim the game screen while disabling negative events;

  • Added a healing mole event, like whack-a-mole. The mole will heal blocks around it unless you whack it away;

  • Added a loot box style event. Every so often a buried trinket will be found. Once opened, you will be given a free prize from the random prize draw;

  • Added a super rare chance for the buried trinket. You might get x99 of an item if you’re lucky!;

  • Made all positive random events stronger or last longer;

  • Reworked how random events start, you will now get more of them the more you dig;

  • Increased essence price for golems;

  • Changed front page;

  • Buying upgrades can now cause random events;

  • Added a new skill that increases the amount of positive rewards gained from random events;

  • Lots of testing, bugs squashed and shovels polished.


KNOWN BUGS

  • Smaller fonts are sometimes unnecessary chunky. Works fine on anything other than HTML version;

  • Blocks will sometimes not be mineable for whoever knows what reason. Re-loading the game will fix this issue;

  • There is currently no way of getting lower level blocks if you need them for upgrades after selling them. Work has already begun on fixing this;
